Acer have announce their new Windows 7 Iconica TAB W500 tablet which finally solves some of the problems associated with owning a tablet PC- the main one being you wouldn’t want to sit down with it and work on it for long periods of time. Acer answers this problem with the addition of a full QWERTY keyboard dock system. Once the tablet is docked into the keyboard it becomes free standing and feels just like a notebook. There is small raised nipple in the middle of the keyboard which acts like a mouse but you can also over ride this and navigate around your page from touch screen. The keyboard dock comes with a HDMI port, 1x USB port and a Ethernet port for a hard wired internet connection.

The TAB W500 comes with with AMD’s Fusion APU Techno, the Ontario C-50 dual Core 1Ghz APU, alongside a Radeon HD 6250 and 3GB of RAM. The W500 comes with a 10.1” LED backlight display which has a 1280×800 resolution, 32GB of SSD, 2x USB 2.0 port, SD card slot, a 1.3Mpix Web Camera, Wi-Fi as well as Bluetooth 3.0

The Acer Iconia Tab W500 is scheduled for release in the UK this summer
